Greetings Truckee AYSO families,

Due to last-minute extenuating circumstances, the Truckee AYSO Alliance Tryouts scheduled for Sunday and Monday, November 16 and 17, 2025 have been postponed to a future date still to be determined.

We are incredibly disappointed to have to cancel tryouts tomorrow and Monday due to an administrative process failure on our part. We understand that many families have made plans around these dates and/or canceled other plans around these dates so that your kids can participate in Alliance Tryouts.

Our Alliance team is working to set up alternate tryout dates in the future, and we will try to offer a variety of different dates to hopefully accommodate all families’ schedules.

Debido a circunstancias atenuantes de última hora, las pruebas de selección de Truckee AYSO Alliance previstas para el domingo 16 y el lunes 17 de noviembre de 2025 se han pospuesto hasta una fecha futura aún por determinar.

Estamos muy decepcionados por tener que cancelar las pruebas de selección de mañana y el lunes debido a un fallo en el proceso administrativo por nuestra parte. Entendemos que muchas familias han hecho planes en torno a estas fechas y/o han cancelado otros planes para que sus hijos puedan participar en las pruebas de selección de la Alianza.

Nuestro equipo de la Alianza está trabajando para fijar fechas alternativas para las pruebas de selección en el futuro, e intentaremos ofrecer una variedad de fechas diferentes con la esperanza de adaptarnos a los horarios de todas las familias.

Key Points About the Truckee Alliance Program

• Games – Truckee Alliance teams may enter the 8-game GBYSL Recreational League season for Spring 2026, which runs from April to early June – typically on Saturdays.

• Practices – Weather permitting, practices start once per week in March in West Reno (off Robb Drive). If field conditions allow, that is likely to increase to twice per week starting sometime in April, and transition to Truckee as fields come online.   

• Tournaments – The teams will play one or two tournaments in late Spring – likely the Davis World Cup on Memorial Day Weekend, and possibly another tournament in Carson City or South Lake Tahoe (TBD). These tournaments will be at additional cost (see below).

• Cost – The registration cost will be approx. ~$250 per player (final cost TBD January 2026), and include fees to play in the GBYSL league, as well as uniform and practice field space. Each tournament typically costs an additional $90 per player. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if your family could benefit from a scholarship. Travel and accommodations are the responsibility of families. It is encouraged that each team organize a fundraiser or ask for community donations to help offset costs.

• Eligibility and Player Ability – Tryouts are open to all Truckee residents of the appropriate age, unless they are already registered to a club soccer team (as a rostered athlete). The skill and commitment level for Truckee Alliance teams will not be as advanced as club programs, however, the program is intended to be more competitive and designed to develop athletes further along the AYSO player pathways.  Your child need not have been registered for AYSO’s Fall 2025 season to be eligible for Spring 2026 Truckee Alliance.
