Become a coach
Coaching AYSO is a privilege and can be a rewarding experience for you and the players. Remember it’s about fun and learning the game of soccer. Years from now, will YOU be the coach one of these kids remembers?
AYSO’s coach training program is accredited by the The National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE).

ALL COACHES MUST:
- submit a one-time fingerprint scan (download the form).
- pass a yearly background check with Sterling (you'll get an email once you signup)
- attend coach orientation
- complete an age specific AYSO certified training - see training schedule below.
- complete online safety trainings:
- Concussion Awareness (every other year)
- Heart attack awareness (every other year)
- Safe Haven certification (every other year)
- Safesport (initial plus shorter annual update/usually transferable between sports organizations)

Only one training session needed to coach.
All trainings subject to cancellation if less than three volunteers sign up
6U coach training
- 6/1 Mon. 6-7pm @ Meadow Park
- 8/15 Sat. 9-10am @ Meadow Park
7/8U coach training
- 6/2 Tues. 6-7pm @ Meadow Park
- 8/15 Sat. 10:30-11:30am @ Meadow Park
10U coach training
- 6/7 Sun. 4-5:30pm @ Meadow Park
- 8/10 Mon. 6-7:30pm @ Meadow Park
- All coaches must also take "Summary of the Laws of the Game" online
12U coach training
- 6/8 Mon. 6-7:30pm @ Meadow Park
- 8/11 Tues 6-7:30pm @ Meadow Park
- Also available 7/31-8/2 at Golden Gate AYSO Coach/Referee Camp in Atherton, CA
- Please take the 12U online portion BEFORE in-person training (you need both online and in-person for your certificate)
- Must also take "Summary of the Laws of the Game" online if not done before
14U coach training (Intermediate)
- Local - TBD
- Also available 7/31-8/2 at Golden Gate AYSO Coach/Referee Camp in Atherton, CA
- Please take the 14U online portion BEFORE in-person training (you need both online and in-person for your certificate)
- You must be a certified 12U coach before taking 14U coach training,
which is a 2 day course. This training is equivalent to a USSF D license.

HOW TO SIGN UP
Login to www.truckeeayso.org -> Volunteer (signup if you have't done so) -> on volunteer page select "AYSOU" button near top right of page -> training event -> search by region 740 -> sign up for appropriate event -> go to training library for safe haven, CDC concussion, and Simon's heart. Luckily each of these modules is good for 3 years.

Accident Reporting
If a player or registered adult volunteer (such as a Coach or Referee) becomes injured during a scheduled practice, game or training, the injury must be reported immediately to the Safety Director, [email protected]. To report the accident, please use the Incident Report Form.
