Welcome New and Returning Truckee AYSO Referees!
Hi all! We need your help! Without a referee our kids’ games are just scrimmages. AYSO trainings teach you everything you need to know to be a referee! All you need is a desire to help, we will handle the rest.
We recognize that becoming a referee can be intimidating. We are here for you! At AYSO we foster a culture of positive coaches, positive spectators, and fun for kids. Referees are a HUGE part of AYSO’s mission to enrich childrens’ lives. Referees are at our games to make them “safe, fair and fun”.
We have a level of referee for you! Whether it’s refereeing 8U kids, being an Assistant Referee (AR) or being a Referee for our older kids, we need you! We are currently recruiting new and returning referees, see below.
Signup as a volunteer referee here, or email [email protected] to learn more.
Our Referee Instructor
Our returning Referee Instructor, Steve Anderson, is extremely motivated to put a trained referee at every game. Steve is a Referee Trainer, Coach, and dedicated Truckee soccer parent. He is excited to work with our youth and parents to continue to take our referee program to the next level. Steve has developed incentives for youth and adult referees and will be holding a pre-season meeting and mid-season meeting to gather our referees for support, food and fun. Volunteering as a referee is a great way to give back to the Truckee Soccer Community. You can pick up games whenever you can. With our easy scheduling system, you can simply pick the games you are able to referee. You can reach Steve by email with any questions, any time, at [email protected]. Training dates are posted below!

NEW ref program this year, focused on supporting our new referees. Mandatory 3 game pairing of new refs with experienced refs. This will help our new refs build confidence and have a positive experience to be able to progress in refereeing their own games.
