Goal for 2022
Have a trained referee at every 10U and older game.
Team Requirements
- 10U and older teams are asked to provide at least one volunteer referee. Please email your volunteer referee's name and contact info to [email protected] as soon as possible. Have them follow the directions on the Referee > Signup page to become eligible to referee.
- 🚨 IMPORTANT! Each team MUST provide a volunteer referee in order to participate in post-season tournaments such as the Truckee Cup and Cookie's Best in Carson City. The referee must referee at least 4 games during the regular season, for the team to be elibible for post-season play.
- Our Referee Administrator, Jon Grindy, will run weekly reports of refs who sign up for games through Signup Genius, our scheduling platform, and will credit the appropriate team.
Coaches who want to understand the Laws of the Game
We encourage you to take the Regional Referee online companion course through AYSOU.org. This gives you a great understanding of the basics! This takes 2 hours and will help your coaching. Follow the steps on the Referee > Signup page to take the course.
Laws of the Game Update
We are tentatively planning a meet and greet for referees and anyone who is interested in Fall 2022 updates to the Laws of the Game. Come meet referees and coaches, and get free gear!
- When: Friday September 9th, 2022, at 6pm
- Where: Riverview Park BBQ Pavillion
Why be a Referee?
- Flexiblity! Unlike coaching, you can ref whenever it works for you!
- Exercise!
- Gear!
- Get togethers and community!
- Help the coaches. It sucks to ref when you are also the coach!
- Enable games! Without a referee, it’s only a scrimmage.
- It’s fun!
